Collette Donnelly is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and Masters Graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland. She has been a Registered Children’s Nurse since 1996 working across range of pediatric surgical specialties in Northern Ireland. Having achieved an MSc in Nursing Science at the Queen’s University Belfast in 2006, Collette continued her academic training and was the Nurse researcher in the LILAC Study (Lifestyle Limitations in Children with Cerebral Palsy). During this time, she received intensive research training and has experience of project management, as well as perfecting her writing skills to a publishable standard. She was the first nurse to have a research Study Protocol on a study in children with Severe Cerebral Palsy, published in the Journal of Advanced Nursing. Collette has experience of Quality Improvement in Healthcare (IHI) successfully part managing a large QI study in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and completed IHI Certification in 2017. Collette also completed training in Pediatric Endoscopy in Kings College London in 2016. Since 2011, Collette specialized in the area of Pediatric General Surgery and underwent an Advanced Nurse Practitioner training program from John Moore’s Liverpool, UK and has been practicing in this Advanced role at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children in the UK. She moved to Sidra in September 2017 as the Nurse Practitioner in General and Thoracic Surgery and looks forward to making a difference to health care for children, young people and families in Qatar.
