Dr. Belal Abuzgia is a Consultant Pediatrician from the UK. He graduated from Tripoli University, Libya in 1993 and since then he have been working in different aspects of Pediatrics including Emergency Pediatrics, Neonatal Medicine and Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology. Dr. Abuzgia completed his high specialty training in Pediatrics in the UK and was awarded his CCT in 2013 from Wales Deanery. His other qualifications are Libyan Board (pediatrics), Arab Board (Pediatrics), Diploma in Diabetes (Cardiff University, UK), MSc in Diabetes (University of Glamorgan, UK) and FRCPCH (UK). Dr Abuzgia current position is an Attending Physician in Emergency Pediatrics at Sidra Medicine. He was also the Lead for Neonatal Service in his hospital.

Dr. Abuzgia’s previous job in the UK was a Consultant Pediatrician at the University Hospital of Morecambe Bay.

In the UK he was extensively involved in teaching and training junior doctors and he used to be the College Tutor in Pediatrics at his local hospital, responsible for leading the postgraduate training program of junior doctors, preparing the induction schedule for newly appointed doctors and leading educational and clinical supervision.

Dr. Abuzgia was an examiner at Lancaster Medical School and participate in undergraduate teaching including facilitation of problem based Learning sessions. He was actively involved in Leadership and Management including different aspects of clinical governance, e.g. clinical audit, teaching and risk management.
