I had my primary medical education at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and my Diploma in Anaesthesia from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. My residency training in anaesthesia was in the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria and I am a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (Anaesthesia). I relocated to the East of England region of the UK in early 2000 and continued my career in anaesthesia. I am a Fellow of the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland and Royal College of Anaesthetists, UK. I was a Consultant Anaesthetist at the James Paget University Hospital, Great Yarmouth in the UK, my last job before joining Sidra Medical & Research Center. I have always had a passion for obstetric anaesthesia as I feel highly privileged to be part of a new life added to mankind!
Apart from the above, I am into Medical training and education. Before arriving Sidra Medicine, I was an honorary Senior Lecturer of University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK (Module Lead and PBL Tutor for Medical Students and founding faculty member for the MSc Programme in Regional Anaesthesia), I was also an RCoA appointed College Tutor, Advanced Life Support Instructor and regularly taught on courses for nurses, midwives and ODPs. As Hyperbaric Physician, I was part of the team that managed a 24 hour level 1 Hyperbaric Unit in the East of England.
