Ana Theresa LeslieMD,PhD
Dr. Ana Leslie graduated from medical school at Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she finished her pediatrics training and subspecialty in neonatology. She also completed her clinical training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at University of Toronto. She obtained Ph.D. degree in Pediatrics, using an animal model for neonatal pain. Before joining to Sidra, Dr. Leslie was an Assistant Professor at Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo and was involved in various educational activities, including teaching neonatology to medical students, residents and neonatal fellows. She has been a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) instructor for 10 years. In addition, she mentored numerous medical students, residents and clinical fellows on research projects. Her special area of interest is prenatal counseling and brain monitor in premature infants. For research, Dr. Leslie has focused on the long-term effects of neonatal pain on the brain.
