Dr. Amna Hussain is a Junior Attending Physician who graduated from Queen Mary University, University of London with a BSc Honors in Biochemistry. She studied for her medical degree at Guy’s Kings and St. Thomas’s School of Medicine and completed her medical training working in various Specialist Children’s hospitals in London, including Evelina Children’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare trust, University College Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She worked as a Pediatric Consultant both in London and Scotland, mainly in Acute and Emergency Medicine and she led the implementation of the Pediatric Sepsis pathway at Western Isles hospital in Scotland.
Dr. Amna Hussain has experience in managing babies and children with Acute and Chronic complex needs as well as children and adolescents with Haematological conditions, especially Sickle Cell Disease. She has most recently worked in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Trauma, PICU and retrieval of critically sick children. In the UK, she was actively involved in the training and recruitment of Pediatricians. She is a member of the Examination Board and Statistical Angoff Standard setting for Membership Examinations at the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child health in the UK. She is a certified APLS instructor.
