- Clinical Biochemistry
Adrian is a Consultant Clinical Biochemist in the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory (Pathology). He is responsible for the delivery of biochemistry services and is working to develop the metabolic test repertoire to support the needs of Sidra patients and clinical teams.
After finishing his post-doctoral fellowship in reproductive and obstetric medicine at The University of Manchester, Adrian began training as a Clinical Biochemist in 2007 at The University Hospital of South Manchester (UK), where he developed a keen interest in liquid chromatography mass spectrometry. In 2011, he worked as a Senior Clinical Biochemist at Royal Liverpool Hospital before taking up his first consultant post in North Cumbria in 2012. In 2014 he moved to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he was subsequently appointed as Head of the Blood Sciences Department and, in 2018, Deputy Clinical Director for Pathology, leading and supporting 850 staff within that Clinical Business Unit.
Adrian has been an Honorary Lecturer at The University of Manchester since 2011, teaching a wide range of biochemistry topics.
