Dr. Abdul R Moodambail has been a Consultant in Pediatrics (Acute & General) with special interests and expertise in Pediatric Diabetes, Obesity, General Endocrine and Medical Education since 2005 in National Health Service in United Kingdom, and at Barts Health NHS Trust in London, the largest NHS Trust in the country during 2008-18. He led a number of Quality Improvement Projects in both Clinical & Medical Education areas. As Clinical Lead for Pediatrics, he led clinical areas for Care Quality Commission (CQC), Health Education England (HEE) and University Medical School inspections, accreditations and Patient Care Peer Reviews. His efforts and outcomes have been recognized with multiple Clinical Excellency Awards.
Dr. Moodambail worked both as undergraduate tutor and post-graduate clinical and educational supervisor, and as undergraduate and post-graduate clinical examiner for more than 10 years. His educational leadership role included responsibilities as Dy. Associate Director of Medical Education since 2009, and Lead for Return To Practice programs along with being Senior Lecturer in Pediatrics at Queen Mary University of London School of Medicine & Dentistry since 2010, apart from working in both the Trust and the University Medical School Education committees.
He also served as North East London Regional Representative and Trustee Board member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, UK during 2013-16 (3 years). He has postgraduate qualification of PGCE in Medical Education, and received accreditation as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK in 2014 on his contribution and leadership roles in Medical Education. He has extensive clinical research experience as Principal or Co-Investigator in various research projects and has peer reviewed publications to his credit.
