Dionne Sears

Manager of Social Work

Dionne Sears is the Manager of Social Work at Sidra Medicine and Chair of its Research & Evidence-Based Practice Council. With over 20 years of clinical experience and a decade in healthcare leadership, she specializes in advancing evidence-based social work within complex, multidisciplinary care settings.

She holds a BSc in Biology and an MSW from Simmons College (Boston) and completed a post-graduate fellowship in Maternal & Child Health Leadership at Children’s Hospital Boston, along with field instructor certification from Columbia University. Her clinical training includes CBT, family systems therapy, and interventions in eating disorders and childhood obesity.

Dionne’s work bridges clinical practice and research. She co-authored peer-reviewed publications on cellular hypoxia in the Journal of Experimental Medicine and Methods in Molecular Biology. Her international experience spans the U.S., Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, where she leads service innovation in pediatric and adolescent care.

She is licensed in Qatar, New York, and Massachusetts, and is committed to integrating scientific rigor with compassionate, patient-centered care.
