Chief of Corporate Services
Abdulrazaq Al Kuwari is the Chief of Corporate Services at Sidra Medical and Research Center. He had been the Deputy Chief Operating Officer from February 2014 to October 2016. Mr. Al Kuwari is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving the operational functions at Sidra.
Mr. Al Kuwari works to ensure that all departmental policies, procedures and outcomes provide the highest quality and safety of patient care, physician relations, and employee satisfaction. He has direct responsibility and accountability for the management of Support Services, Facilities, Food and Nutrition, Office of Activation Management, Patient Experience, Communications and Supply Chain, including Procurement. Mr. Al Kuwari also facilitates recruitment for departments under his responsibility. He retains his oversight of the Business Development Office at Sidra where he leads efforts to enhance and diversify revenue. Mr. Al Kuwari also directs strategic projects intended to reduce operating costs and/or increase profitability of select clinical and non-clinical services.
Previously, Mr. Al Kuwari was the Project Director for Corporate Governance Strategy at Sidra. He designed and developed scholarship programs, including developing the structure and strategy of the National Capacity Building “Qatarization” division at Sidra. This project aims to recruit Qataris, build their career path and develop retention strategies. In addition, this division provided policy analysis and planned the corporate governance structure of Sidra’s operations. As a key representative of Sidra, Mr. Al Kuwari was a member of the General Secretariat’s Committee to develop the landmark Qatar National Vision 2030 strategy.
Prior to Sidra, Mr. Al Kuwari worked with RAND-Qatar Policy Institute in Doha, Qatar where he was an associate policy analyst. Milestone projects included leading and contributing to the assessment of Qatar’s higher education system for strategic improvements, evaluating the net worth of hosting the 2006 Asian Games and related foreign assistance aid. Culminating in the formation of the new Secretariat for Development Planning, Mr. Abdulrazaq also contributed to developing the policies to reform Qatar’s labor markets and government personnel system.
Prior to his work at RAND, Mr. Al Kuwari was a risk analyst at Qatar National Bank.
Mr. Al Kuwari has a diverse background in finance, executive management and economics in both the private and government sectors. He received dual undergraduate degrees in finance and business management, with minors in economics and government from Eastern Washington University and holds an MBA from the University of Miami with a specialization in health sector management and policy.
In addition to his role at Sidra, Mr. Al Kuwari is the chairperson of the board in Qatar Academy Sidra.
