The Sidra Medical and Research Center, member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, is the proud Pearl Sponsor of the Qatar Career Fair 2013. Now in its sixth year, the Qatar Career Fair, held under the patronage of His Highness, The Heir Apparent, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will be held from today until April 6 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
Sidra will provide attendees with information on career opportunities for clinical and non-clinical positions within the hospital. The Sidra booth, located in Hall 8 of the education, health and sports section (booth number- Ehs-ps01), will offer visitors a chance to win an iPad everyday.
Sidra will also be taking part in the ‘Search for Information’ competition, which runs from April 1-6. Held by the Qatar Career Fair organizers, it encourages attendees to visit exhibitors’ booths to find the answers to questions posed by participating exhibitors.
Sidra Communications Project Director Khalid al-Mohannadi, said, “Sidra is committed to Qatarization and we are keen to give Qatari candidates every possible opportunity to apply for roles at Sidra. The Qatar Career Fair 2013 is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase the many opportunities available to local candidates who are looking to advance their careers in medicine and related fields. There is some fantastic local talent so we’re excited about this opportunity to speak with eligible Qataris to build the Sidra team.”
For those who do not have experience in relevant fields to date, Sidra will also be offering opportunities through the Sidra Scholarship Program and the JANA program. The Sidra Scholarship Program helps to prepare those interested in building a career with Sidra by equipping them with the necessary skills and experience. The Program is part of Sidra’s vision to grow domestic talent into world-renowned medical professionals. The program supports study in medical and academic fields to prepare participants for roles at Sidra. Scholarships are offered in bachelor and post-bachelor degrees, PhD, residency, fellowship, and research programs, and are available for particular academic disciplines. The Jana Program is a development opportunity offered to Qataris who hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Health, HR, IT, or Business. If selected, Qataris take part in a training program in one of Sidra’s project team departments (HR, Finance, IT, PMO, Clinical Planning, Support Services, Communications, Support Services) where they are exposed to a health care environment and learn about a variety of career options.
Sidra staff will meet potential students, fresh graduates and those looking to advance their career in related fields. Noora Al Fadala, head of the Scholarship office, stated, “We are excited to participate in this year’s Qatar Career Fair on behalf of the Sidra Scholarship Program. Sidra is committed to transforming local talent into world-class expertise and with over 90% of scholarships going to Qataris, we are on track to realize our vision.”
