Several critical milestones have already been achieved. The initial clinical planning for the Center was completed in late 2005 and the architectural design announced in early 2007.
Sidra is a complex undertaking given the advanced level of technology that will be incorporated into the all-digital facility. An extensive tender process for construction was therefore required and is nearing completion. The contract will be awarded shortly.
After construction, there will be a period of commissioning to confirm that all systems and installations at Sidra are fully operational. There will also be several months of training for the Center staff to ensure they can fully utilize the technologies and can effectively function in an all-digital environment.
