His Excellency Yousef Hussain Kamal currently serves as Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economy and Commerce, positions he has held since 1998 and 2006respectively. He also serves in the following positions:

H.E. Kamal also represents the State of Qatar as Governor to the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Arab Monetary Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, and the OPEC Fund.

The story of success is spread to more than three decades when he joined as section chief within the department of Financial Affairs, Ministry of Finance & Petroleum in 1973. After that he held many key posts in the ministry such as Director of Financial Affairs in 1988 and Under Secretary of Ministry of Finance, Economy & Commerce in 1993. He assumed his current post in 1998.

H.E. Kamal holds a B.A. in business administration from Cairo University and several public financial courses from the International Monetary Fund and various American Universities.
