Dr. Stephen Lindow is the Division Chief of Obstetrics at Sidra Medical and Research Center. He joined Sidra in 2014. In addition to his role at Sidra, Dr. Lindow is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar.
Dr. Lindow is responsible for the management and co-ordination of the team of clinicians working in the division of obstetrics at Sidra’s Outpatient Clinic. As Sidra is a referral based hospital, Dr. Lindow will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of patients coming in from other primary or secondary healthcare institutions.
Before joining Sidra, Dr. Lindow was a Senior Lecturer in Perinatology at the Hull York Medical School for 20 years. In addition to his academic role at the medical school, he was also a consultant at Hull Royal Infirmary. Prior to that, Stephen was a Senior Specialist at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town.
In 2008, Dr. Lindow was awarded an honorary Associate Professor position at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He has also received an honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2011. He also served as the director of education for the Yorkshire Modular Training Program for four years.
Dr. Lindow has consistently published in Obstetrics and has more than 160 publications in peer reviewed journals. He was the recipient of the Tutor of the Year Award for the Yorkshire Modular Training Program for three consecutive years – 2002, 2003 and 2004. He also received a similar award in his capacity as tutor with Hull York Medical School.
Dr. Lindow has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sheffield, Master of Medicine form University Cape Town and he attained his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Hull.
