Hani Ghawi, MD, MS, FAAP. Was recently appointed – October 2014 – as an attending physician in the Pediatric Cardiology at Sidra Medical and Research Center, Doha, Qatar. He is responsible for diagnosing and treating children with congenital and acquired heart disease.
Dr. Ghawi received his medical degree from Al-Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq, and completed his Pediatrics board at Hamad General Hospital, Doha, Qatar as well as American board of Pediatrics from Louisiana State University health Science Center, USA.
He finished his Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. During his fellowship he earn a Master degree of Science, major in Clinical Research, his thesis was focused on establishing normal values for fetal myocardial performance indexes. His work was published in the Pediatric Cardiology journal.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Ghawi, completed his advanced training in non-invasive imaging (transthoracic, tranesophageal and fetal echocardiography) at University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, Dllas, Texas.
His main interests are echocardiography, fetal echocardiography and general pediatric cardiology.
