Dr. Christina Vlahos is a clinical psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. She specializes in children and adolescents with medical problems such as chronic illness.
The services she provides are evidence-based therapy and comprehensive psychological diagnostic evaluations. Prior to joining Sidra, Dr. Christina obtained her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology, Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neuroscience from the Department of Psychology, Georgia State University in Atlanta, U.S.A.
She completed her clinical residency in Medical Psychology at the Medical College of Georgia, U.S.A. After her training, she completed a 3 year post-doctoral research fellowship funded by the European Commission FP7 “Marie Curie” International Reintegration Grant at the Department of Psychology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. For the past 10 years, she has worked full-time for a prestigious, U.S.- affiliated private education institution in Northern Greece providing counseling and diagnostic evaluation services to adolescents and their families, and supervising trainees. During this time, she also maintained her own private practice and taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology at Aristotle University as visiting faculty. She is both an American and Greek citizen, and provides services in English and Greek.
