Dr Carmen Simion is Section Head, Pediatric Regional Anesthesia and recently joined us from Lurie Children’s (Chicago) in January 2015. Her role at Sidra will be to participate in delivery of anesthesia to pediatric patients with emphasis in applying regional anesthesia techniques for a better postoperative pain control and for better patient satisfaction. Establishing, with other colleagues, educational curriculum in pediatric anesthesia, regional anesthesia and pediatric pain management for Weil Cornell medical students, residents and fellows and implementation of CEVL (computer enhanced visual learning) as a tool for training.
She moved to Doha with her husband Bogdan and their twin daughters, Emma Gabriela and Elena Joanna who are 7 years old. Prior to Sidra, Carmen was Assistant Professor at Feinberg school of Medicine/ Northwestern University in windy city Chicago, Section Head, Division of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
In her free time Dr Simion enjoys crossword puzzles, reading mystery novels, experimenting new recipes in the kitchen and playing outdoors with the kids.
