The doctors at the Outpatient Clinic will begin admitting patients to the hospital in mid-April, as necessary
Serves all children age 0-18 years who present with hematologic disorders or with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of an oncologic condition. All patients will receive comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care with provision of 24/7-coverage for inpatients and outpatients.
The Division of Hematology/Oncology will also run the Palliative Care Service, which will provide symptom management, psychosocial and end-of-life support for all patients across the institution with chronic and life-limiting conditions.
The Department of Children’s Medicine will closely network with its partner, HMC (HGH, Women’s Hospital and Heart Hospital) in Doha. In addition, it will also network with the primary care services (e.g. PHCC) and secondary care services at Al Khor Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital and the other hospitals in the HMC network. HMC will provide secondary level of care for Pediatrics (general pediatrics), level II PICU (17 beds) and up to level III NICU.
